Mark Baran, Managing Director and Cofounder

Mr. Baran has more than 25 years experience in the investment management industry including real estate experience from previous roles at JMB Realty and Boston Capital. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Baran was a Vice President at Neuberger Berman in Private Asset Management. In addition to marketing traditional investments with Nicholas Applegate and State Street Research, he has also served as a Managing Director at Spencer Trask Ventures, Inc. where he was responsible for capital formation for early stage venture firms and marketing private equity funds.
Mr. Baran received a B.A. in Administrative Science from Yale University. He is a member of the Investment Management Consulting Association and serves as a board member for the National Foundation for Cancer Research

Bill Howard, Managing Director / Direct Sales

Bill has over 30 years experience in the securities industry, including trading, investment banking, retail and instructional sales. He has held the position of Senior VP at a New York Stock Exchange Member Firm as well as various positions at other financial institutions.

His career has catered to high net worth individuals ,and corporations. He is licensed in the securities industry and holds Series 7, Series 24 and Series 63. Bill joined Four Springs Capital, LLC in the spring of 2009 with the goal of building internal distribution staff.

Ken Marlow, CFP Regional Vice President

Prior to joining Four Springs Capital, Ken served as Senior Vice President for Envestnet Asset Management, one of the leading providers of wealth management platforms to independent broker dealers and RIA’s. Headquartered in Chicago, Envestnet supported leading firms in the advisory services sector and raised over 50 Billion in assets under management.

Prior to Envestnet, Ken served as Vice President and Director of Marketing for InterSecurities Inc./Western Reserve Life Assurance Co of Ohio, St Petersburg Florida for 16 years.

Scott Sperduto, Vice President

Scott A. Sperduto graduated with a B.A. from the University of Bridgeport and received his MBA from Iona College Graduate School of Business. After working as a clerk on the New York Stock Exchange for five years, Scott was a broker on the New York Cotton Exchange for the next 20 years. As a member of the internal Direct Sales team, Scott raises capital for our real estate syndications.

Jim Avery, Vice President

Prior to joining the firm, Jim has spent 27 years in Banking/Mortgage Banking, Real Estate and Securities Finance. He spent 15 years with Merrill Lynch’s Private Client Group as a Vice President Specialist advising high net worth clients regarding all aspects of borrowing. Most recently Jim was at Citi Group/ Smith Barney Wealth Management as a Lending Director/VP.

Jim holds a BS in Business Administration from Nasson College, Maine. He is registered series 7, 63, and 65. Also he is a licensed New Jersey Mortgage Broker.

Peter Malone, Regional VP-Northeast

Peter H. Malone has more than 25 years of combined experience in both residential and commercial mortgage lending and institutional loan repurchase lending. Mr. Malone has worked as a Team Sales Leader for HSBC Mortgage Corporation and as a Whole Loan and Repurchase Agreement Broker for Euro Brokers based in New York City.

Mr. Malone also previously marketed an internationally known financial news wire service both in the US and abroad. The past fifteen years of Mr. Malone's career have focused on residential, multi-family and mixed use financing in the Hudson Valley Region of New York.

Mr. Malone Currently holds FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 securities licenses, as well as his New York Real Estate Agent's License.
